Lailen is the owner and president of L. Baua & Associates, Legal Nurse Consultants, LLC. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from University of San Agustin, Philippines in 1995. Her extensive nursing experience includes roles such as Company Nurse, Staff Nurse and Charge Nurse in the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and USA in various areas of specialty – Medical Surgical, Ortho, Emergency Room, OB Gyn, Pediatrics, Eye, Dental, Outpatient Procedures, Cardiac Care and ICU. She also qualified to participate in a Nursing Research Internship.

For over 10 years, Lailen has worked as a Clinical Quality Reviewer, responsible for reviewing medical records, identifying adherence to and deviation from the standards of care that leads to process improvement projects to improve the quality of patient care. She had also taken the role of Clinical Education Manager, teaching Quality Reviewers how to review medical records accurately and efficiently while keeping them abreast of the latest guidelines. She is currently acting as a Senior Quality Information Specialist, critiquing medical care in hospitals from various parts of the country.

In January 2021, she became nationally certified as a Legal Nurse Consultant through the Vickie Milazzo Institute, enabling her to utilize her proficiency in medical record review to produce case reports involving medical malpractice, personal injury, and other cases that involve health, illness, or injury.

As a member of American Nurses Association and National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, Lailen has access to over a thousand certified experts as a resource in different areas of nursing.
